PRESENTS
The Origin of the Grand Canyon
Dr. Walter Brown
Saturday,
May 26, 2007
This workshop will discuss the origin of the Grand Canyon. Dr. Brown has hiked in and studied the features of the Grand Canyon for many years. For 150 years geologists have puzzled over the canyon's birth being a "hazy mystery, cloaked in intrigue, and filled with enigmatic puzzles." Participants will consider two ancient, post-Flood lakes - Grand Lake and Hopi Lake - that successively breached their boundaries and carved the Grand Canyon in a few weeks. This explanation not only unravels the confusion, but solves other puzzles not previously associated with the Grand Canyon.
This workshop will be a preview of the FIGI Field Adventure to the canyon lands planned for early summer 2008.
A chapter in Dr. Brown's book "In the Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood" is entitled "The Origin of the Grand Canyon". It will give those planning to attend the Grand Canyon workshop a head start to have read this chapter before coming to the workshop. It can be read online at: http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/GrandCanyon.html. The latest edition of this chapter is available as a booklet from FIGI for a workshop registration fee of $5.00. Please E-mail your request for this booklet to infofigi@figionline.com if you would like to have a copy of the booklet mailed to you.
Dr. Brown will take questions about the Hydroplate theory at this workshop, but to avoid covering questions already answered in his book, he requests that persons asking questions on this subject to have read his book first. To read the online edition of his book "In the Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood", please connect to: http://www.creationscience.com/
FIGI has ordered a number of copies of the hardbound print edition of Dr. Brown's book. These books will be available for purchase at the FIGI book table.
A free-will offering will be received at the workshop to help cover the cost of bringing this outstanding speaker to our area.
