PRESENTATION

        Topic:   Dr. Walter Brown's Hydroplate Theory
                       (Compelling evidence for Creation and the Flood)
   Speaker:   Brent Carter, Geologist

BRIEF INTRODUCTION:
Since the early 1980's Dr. Walter Brown, Director of Center for Scientific
Creation, has produced a book entitled "In the Beginning: Compelling
Evidence for Creation and the Flood".  Much of this treatise deals with the
Hydroplate Theory which Dr. Brown describes in detail.

There are many reasons for concluding that the earth has experienced a
devastating, worldwide flood, whose waters violently burst forth from under
the earth's crust.  Standard "textbook" explanations for many of the
earth's major features are scientifically flawed.  The Hydroplate Theory
will explain, using well-understood phenomena, how this cataclysmic event
rapidly formed all these features.  Many other mysteries are better
explained in terms of this literally earth-shaking event, an event far more
catastrophic than most people have imagined.

The origin of numerous, world-wide geological features are subjects of the
controversy within the earth sciences.  The Hydroplate Theory answers a
host of previously unexplained questions raised by physical observations
such as:
The Grand Canyon and other canyons, Mid-Oceanic Ridge, Continental Shelves
and Slopes, Ocean Trenches, Seamounts and Tablemounts, Earthquakes, Magnetic
Variations on the Ocean Floor, Submarine Canyons, Coal and Oil Formations,
Glaciers and the Ice Age, Frozen Mammoths, major Mountain Ranges,
Overthrusts, Volcanoes and Lava, Geothermal heat, etc.

Each geologic feature has many aspects that are inconsistent with standard
explanations, yet all appear to be consequences of a sudden and
unrepeatable event - -  a cataclysmic flood whose waters erupted from
worldwide, subterranean and interconnected chambers with an energy exceeding
the explosion of ten billion hydrogen bombs.

WHO IS WALT BROWN?
Dr. Brown is a retired full colonel (Air Force), West Point Graduate, PhD
in mechanical engineering from M.I.T., National Science Foundation Fellow,
former associate professor at the U.S. Air Force Academy.  Since retiring
in 1980, Dr. Brown has been actively involved in speaking, writing and
research in creation-science.
