DRAFT - MISSION STATEMENT
The Creation Science Fellowship of Idaho is a Christian Fellowship of
scientists and laypeople devoted to understanding and explaining origins,
history and our present world as revealed by scientific discovery
interpreted through the worldview of Biblical truth.
We endeavor to show Christians and others that when the facts of science
are consistently interpreted through a Biblical worldview, the search for
absolute reality (Truth) is accelerated; however, when the facts of science
are interpreted through man's worldview (primarily
materialism/evolutionism) the search for Truth is defeated.
Our mission will be accomplished by:
Holding monthly meetings
Offering speakers, books, videos, movies, and slides for
churches, civic groups, campus organizations and schools
Hosting creationist seminars and debates
Sponsoring creationist films on local-access TV
Equipping people to rightly defend the biblical worldview as
related to science, origins, history and precepts for living.
THE INFORMATION AGE
Bob Compton
1. Here is a simplified definition of "Information": An encoded, symbolic
representation of material realities or conceptual relationships that can
only originate from an intelligent source .
EXAMPLE: "That VCR and TVset allow us to observe what is recorded
on the video tape". The VCR, TV set and videotape are 'material realities'.
My statement referring to these items is nonmaterial 'information' coded in
the English language.
2. Information has been with us from the beginning, but only now are we
starting to carefully examine the nature of Information. This recent interest
in the nature of information is, I believe, a result of:
A. the ability to process massive amounts of information utilizing
computers
B. the discovery of the remarkably complex information encoded in
the DNA molecules of every living organism.
3. Matter and energy are the first two fundamental quantities and are
material in nature. Information is neither matter nor energy, i.e. it is
nonmaterial and considered to be the third fundamental quantity.
EXAMPLE: "When a light bulb, which is composed of matter, is
energized, it radiates two forms of energy - light and heat". This
sentence is neither matter nor energy, it is information. Therefore,
the fundamental assumption of all secular evolutionists that
"the universe is comprised only of matter and energy"
(materialism/naturalism) is clearly in error.
EXAMPLE: Evolutionists insist that science be absolutely restricted
to the study of matter and energy (materialism). If information is
outside of matter and energy (nonmaterial) and arises only from an
intelligent being, the evolutionist demand for materialism is irrational
and defeats the true quest of science, which is a search for absolute
truth!
4. Information has never been observed to arise from spontaneous
physicochemical processes, however it requires matter and energy
for its storage and transmission. Evolutionists desperately need a
materialistic mechanism that will give rise to NEW information.
However, after countless intensive searches, they have failed to
identify even ONE!
5.Does the following sequence of English letters constitute information?
Gps Hpe tp mpwfe uid xpsme uibu Id hbwf Ijt pomz cfhpuufo
