Does weather carry a message through hurricanes, rainbows and the atmosphere?

featuring Mr. Vin Crosby

Every generation since Noah's flood has experienced, studied, and been in awe of the atmosphere God created.  Weather has captivated generations sometimes with the beauty of a rainbow or the awesome power of a hurricane.  We need weather to live and survive.  Through the Bible God uses his perfectly created atmosphere to communicate to all of creation.  It's used for blessing or to get our attention when not walking along God's path.  Weather is everywhere in the Bible and obvious to all creation on Earth.  Vin has read the Bible cover to cover with a theme of weather and will share meteorology and some life stories that show just how loving and awesome God is.  Did you know a thunderstorm is laid out in Chapter 1 of Ezekiel?   Where the term Nor Easter came from for the powerful east coast storms?  With this talk we'll draw out what a weather map may have looked like during Paul's shipwreck on Malta.  Also how Christians can use the current concept of "Global Warming" as a great witnessing tool.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER  

Vin became a Meteorologist in 1991 graduating from then Plymouth State College located in New Hampshire. It's now a University and one of the better Meteorology programs in the world. The program at the time Vin attended was geared toward the science of meteorology to equip one for research and higher education. Vin's desire was to be a television meteorologist and took it upon himself to seek out internships at local television stations in Providence, Rhode Island and Manchester, New Hampshire. This turned out to be a great move because Gary Ley the Chief Meteorologist for WJAR in Providence happened to be one of the first voices on a little company dealing in weather called The Weather Channel! Vin worked there in the early 90s after his first job for Electronic Telecommunications. For both jobs he forecast and broadcast for the entire country working and training with some of the best forecasters in the world! At The Weather Channel Vin was a Radio Meteorologist for most major markets around the country and a forecaster creating most of the maps the on air forecasters would use. Vin's break in television came in 1995 and he's been on air ever since. In 1998 he rededicated his life to Jesus Christ and was led out west where he worked as the Chief Meteorologist for a local television station.

A free-will offering will be received at both seminars to help cover the cost of bringing this outstanding speaker to our area.

The CHILDREN’S PROGRAM will be included with the adults for this meeting with Vin Crosby.

CHILDREN’S CREATION SEMINARS  A Children’s Creation Seminar for children ages 5 - 12 accompanies each adult seminar.  These seminars are designed for children, presenting the same topic and information that is being offered in the adult seminars. Children will receive an interactive mini-lecture combined with demonstrations, songs, experiments, games, activities and snacks that all reinforce the topic.  Critical thinking skills are encouraged.  We have grand time learning, sharing & exploring theories, biology, geology, chemistry and more.

ENJOY OUR FELLOWSHIP TIME  Please bring finger foods for our fellowship time following the seminar. This fellowship time is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet new people, and to visit with the speaker and with friends.

CREATION RESOURCES will be available for purchase at both locations.  DVD's, books, T-shirts, and more will be on display.  FIGI has produced some very nice T-shirts with a creation theme.  All proceeds from the purchase of these T-shirts goes to support the activities of FIGI.

CREATION SCIENCE LIBRARY  Creation Resources for all ages include a large selection of books, videos, audios, & DVD’s from AIG, ICR, and many others. The library is free to use and is currently located in Ontario, Oregon.  Check out time is 1 month. Foundations In Genesis of Idaho/Oregon, also known as ‘FIGI’ (pronounced fig-ee), is a local Creation Science organization that hosts Adult & Children's science seminars and geological field adventures. Bringing in scientists who are experts in their fields, FIGI Seminars & Field Adventures offer fascinating information and cutting edge evidence which encourages critical thinking and an understanding of factual science which are key in which worldview (biblical or evolutionary) a person chooses.
