PRESENTS
MOUNT ST. HELENS
A BIG BANG FOR CREATION

Rev. LLOYD ANDERSON
October
30 & 31, 2008 at 7:00 PM

“Awesome for Creation” describes the eruptions of Mount St. Helens in the 1980’s.  Formations taking forever at 24/7 rates took a mere geological wink of the eye—a mountain wasted, hundreds of new layers deposited, a river system carved, millions-of-years of bad science at Yellowstone exposed.    How can a mountain collapse in seconds?  Why would a volcano erupt sideways?  What are the mechanics of rapid layering?  Can we see in these local processes the effects of a world-wide cataclysm?  How does this local event help us better understand the Biblical Flood?  Sense the unbridled power and wonder of a major volcanic eruption as Lloyd Anderson explores these mysteries in a fast-moving, fact-filled color slide presentation.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Rev. Lloyd T. Anderson, born 12/28/1935 in Portland, came to Christ in 1951 in Corvallis, attended Multnomah Bible College from 54-56, graduated from Wheaton College in 1959 (B.A.) and Dallas Theological Seminary in 1966 (Th.M.).  He married Doris Theis, an R.N. from Milwaukee Wisconsin, in 1960.  He is the father of five children.  He pastored Bible churches in Port Angeles, Poulsbo and Lynnwood 1966-1985.  He was office manager and bookkeeper for a Seattle engineering firm 1986-1997.  In 1998 he and Doris founded Mount St. Helens Creation Information Center.  Doris assists in the presentation and manages the book table and displays.

Children will receive an interactive mini-lecture combined with demonstrations, songs, experiments, games, activities and snacks that all reinforce the topic.  Critical thinking skills are encouraged.  We have grand time learning, sharing & exploring theories, biology, geology, chemistry and more.

ENJOY OUR FELLOWSHIP TIME  Please bring finger foods for our fellowship time following the seminar. This fellowship time is a great opportunity to ask questions, meet new people, and to visit with the speaker and with friends.

CREATION RESOURCES will be available for purchase at both locations.  DVD's, books, T-shirts, and more will be on display.  FIGI has produced some very nice T-shirts with a creation theme.  All proceeds from the purchase of these T-shirts goes to support the activities of FIGI.
